It has been an absolutely crazy few weeks but hopefully you will enjoy some of my spring break adventures. For those of you who may not know, three friends and I decided to take a road trip down the east coast of Australia! Our trip began with the realization that the vans the company we rented our van through were manual. Not a problem if you know how to drive stick however only one out of the four of us did leaving us with one van without a driver. Luckily Danielle had some experience driving a manual car back in the states so my roommate Michael taught her in just two days! What a trooper :) The four of us (Danielle, David, Sebastian, and I) took a plane up to Cairns, home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We arrived to the "hostel" early in the morning and were pleasantly surprised by what we found. We were under the impression a hostel would be a run down building with a bunch of beds in it however this was fully equipped with a pool, bar, casino, nightclub, and air conditioned rooms. The woman at the front desk informed us that they had lost our reservations but since we had printed out our confirmation she upgraded us to a private room with six beds, our own bathroom, tv, and refrigerator. The new room also came with two free dinners and discounted drinks at the bar. We had a great time out and met two new friends from England.
